How Does One Get Targeted by a Demon, Anyway?

Hopefully, everyone is getting ready for Halloween and enjoying life a little bit. A few crazy scary haunted houses might be in order, but if you've got your own haunted house, maybe it's not up your alley. I had a haunted house, and it did a fair share of scaring us, our family and our friends. So I mostly skip the made up stuff these days.

If you've read my other posts, you probably know that we suffered from a demon haunting in our house. Or, I guess maybe it was more of a demon infestation. So, this got me to thinking about how one actually gets targeted by a demon in the first place. Like, is it really something that just happens? Do they spot you coming and align the universe to wind up in their paths?

I don't really know how this works. I'm not completely sure, but I will tell you what I think happened in our case.

Before we even came here

Before we even came to our current home, I began doing research for a manuscript. I wanted to find all I could about demons. I wanted to know how to call them (I never did and never would, but the information itself was an integral part of the story), I wanted to know magic. I was searching for all of it. Not only did I search for it on my computer, I printed the stuff out.

Intelligent Hauntings - Are they More than They Seem?

By now I've jumped all over the grid when it comes to my haunted house. You've read a lot of it, and it might seem kind of... What am I looking for? Banal? Maybe. A lot of it has been. You know, little things here and there, but for the past almost six years, there has been a general theme to our lives: bad luck, more bad luck, and more bad luck on top of it.

In fact, for most of the time we've lived here, we have had nothing but bad luck. Job loss, money issues, drug problems with a kid, flooding that resulting in reduced income... The list goes on and on.

So, in my last post, I talked about the possibility of something negative in our home. Something that maybe isn't quite bad, but that isn't exactly bringing good positive energy into our lives. It really worries me. 

Look at it this way - it's like when you're cursed. So, you don't think about it most of the time - until it seems like you might be cursed. Maybe you stub your toe. Then later that day you trip and fall, then you get stuck in a traffic jam and are late for that big meeting. Well, with the run in your stockings, the bleeding knee and the broken heel you're sporting - it's already been a pretty horrible day. Losing that big account just sealed the deal.

Not mine - but I think I need to start taking more pictures of my house!
